Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve which stands today as a successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first national park of Nepal established in 1973 A.D to preserve a unique eco-system significantly to the world. The Suklaphanta National Park is named after the dazzling open grassland which is called “Phanta” in Nepali. you can see varieties of wild animals such as Elephant’s, Tiger, Deer, Wild dog, Nilgai, porcupine, Jackal, storks, King fisher’s, Gaint hornbill, Rhinos, Crocodile, etc. You can visit the Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve by walking and driving. Another attraction of Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve is “Rani Tal”. About 75% of Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve is covered by forest and others 25% covered by grassland.
About 2 kilometers from the Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve there is another attraction of the region, Dodhara Chandani Suspension Bridge. The suspension bridge has a span of 1460 m and is the longest bridge of its kind in Asia joining the two villages, Dodhara and Chandani, separated by the Mahakali River.
